The Challenge

CTN first approached Techary in 2013. At the time they were relying on various different suppliers to make up their technology stack, which meant they were managing lots of different contracts, subscriptions and licenses. This was taking up valuable time that could be otherwise spent on running their business.

They were also using a local IT company who provided various services and IT support on an ad hoc basis.

Since partnering with CTN, we have worked to create a more robust and flexible working environment to account for remote working, business growth & increased security.

Our Solution

Techary is now CTN’s strategic IT partner, managing their complete technology stack end-to-end including software licenses and hardware subscriptions.

Migration to Techary Cloud – As part of their strategy to implement a more reliable, highly-available and secure environment, CTN considered moving their core applications to Techary’s Private Cloud. We compared this to a Public Cloud solution, but for CTN’s use case, which was to host their finance and ERP software, Techary Cloud proved to be more commercially attractive. 

As part of this migration, we improved edge security at both CTN sites by implementing a Meraki network.

The cloud migration has also provided CTN with a scaleable, secure infrastructure environment, which they no longer need to maintain on-premises. This has helped to future-proof them from any hardware constraints and gives them access to enterprise-grade infrastructure, without the cost.

Improved connectivity – For years, employee experience was affected due to limited fibre options – connectivity was limited in the Dartford site and a better connection was required to connect back to key infrastructure in Telford. The most obvious solution was a leased line, which wasn’t possible due to landlord restraints (and thousands of pounds in one-off costs). Techary was able to devise a more cost-effective solution utilising Starlink satellite internet to deliver improved connectivity (over 500% increase in speeds) to the site.

The Results

We have been utilising Techary for a number of years now, and I am delighted with the service received. Since Techary have taken over I do not have to worry about the IT System for CTN. Updates are run automatically out-of-hours, our system fully backs up to the cloud as well as on-site, and we have no more recurring issues. Techary also provide all our hardware and software which is very reasonably priced. The service is prompt and reliable and I have no hesitation in recommending them to any business.
