Relocation of Desktop and Server Equipment for Flexera


Overseeing and completing the relocation of desktop and server equipment to Flexera’s new office, with an additional phase to securely dispose of any redundant equipment.

Flexera delivers IT management solutions that enable enterprises to accelerate the return on their technology investments. They help organizations inform their IT with total visibility into complex hybrid ecosystems, so they can transform their IT by rightsizing across all platforms, reallocating spend, reducing risk and charting the most effective path to the cloud.


Our solution

Flexera relocated to a newly refurbished office less than 1 mile away from their current office at the time. Techary were tasked with the relocation of 50 users, making provisions for specialist equipment. We also relocated 40Us worth of networking equipment, which required full decommissioning and recommissioning.

Once all equipment had been moved to the new premise, there was a large volume of redundant equipment that required disposing of. A large quantity were data bearing devices, so we also provided certification of destruction capturing the make, model and serial number of each device.
Prior to the move, we attended site to meet end-user staff and interact with them face to face. Together, we walked the move and flagged any potential issues.

We completed an audit of each site to assess accessibility for specialist equipment (such as bespoke flight cases for server equipment). We also produced a detailed schematic of current and proposed rack diagrams for the server infrastructure, given that some equipment was being split between different locations and company divisions.

All ancillary and preparatory tasks were completed prior to the move, to ensure both risk and workload were reduced to a minimum. New equipment was installed prior to the move, allowing time for testing, sign off and removing waste from the old site.
